In an effort to make Clearwater more financially accessible, School Meeting offers scholarships and tuition assistance to families in need using a trust based Tuition Assistance program where families name the amount of tuition that is sustainable for them (we suggest 5-10% of your income as a guide). Tuition Assistance applications are part of the online enrollment registration once a Visiting Week is scheduled. For more information email TCS@clearwaterschool.com

Part Time and Homeschool Extension Enrollment:

Consistent attendance makes education and community possible at Clearwater and it is a primary responsibility of Clearwater students to attend school as expected and to notify the attendance clerk if something prevents them from doing so. That said, there are occasionally reasons to attend school less than our 5 days per week, 5.5 hours per day full time attendance requirement. Here is a break down of how part time attendance works:

For students under age 8, Clearwater offers optional part-time enrollment of 3 or 4 days per week and/or shorter hours during the day to allow younger students to adjust to full-time school. This does not need School Meeting approval, families can check the “part time” enrollment box on the registration form to enroll part time.

Students 8 years of age and older who wish to attend Clearwater less than full time have two options. The first is to enroll into Clearwater’s full time program and request an Attendance Variance from School Meeting which can be used for re-occurring scheduled absences such as classes, jobs, internships, Running Start, therapy, etc.

The second option is to enroll in our Homeschool Extension (HE) program which requires students to spend 1 hour a week with a staff member, but waives our attendance requirement. HE also provides parent support in the realm of self directed education. To learn more about our Homeschool Extension program click here.
